My Shooting C.V. - (some of the best stuff I’ve done)

Started clay shooting in March 2012 with lessons at Newnham Park Shooting Ground, Plympton, Devon. Shot English Sporting for approx. a year and a half. Reached B class in that time.

12/10/13 – My first Down the Line CPSA Registered shoot, score 89/263. Switched to shooting Down the Line as my main discipline.

21/12/13 – Shot my first registered 100 straight score, 100/298.

14/9/14 – Shot for the Devon DTL Team for the first time. Part of winning team in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022.

12/10/14 – Shot for the Devon SB Team for the first time. Part of winning team in 2016, 2018, 2019.

26/9/15 – Won the Bradford Gun Club DTL Championship for the first time at Bradford Shooting Ground, Holsworthy, Devon, score 100/297.

24/10/15 – Won the Norman Yates Shield at North Cornwall Shooting Ground for the first time, score 99/291. Retained the shield in 2016, 2017, 2018.

2017 – Qualified for the England DTL Team for the first time, went to National Shooting Centre Scotland. My score of 97/284 didn’t count at the Home International.

17/6/17 – Won the Bill Horne Memorial Trophy at Bradford SG, score 100/299.

1/7/17 – Won the Devon DTL Championship with a 100/299. Qualified for Devon DTL Team as Team Captain.

8/7/17 – Shot my first 100/300.

15/7/17 – Won the Devon SB Championship with a score of 98. Qualified for Devon SB Team as Team Captain.

12/8/17 – Won the South West DTL Championship with a score of 100/297.

15/9/17 – 17/9/17 – Went to the Gamebore DTL Grand Prix at Mid Wales. Shot 100/300, 100/298, 100/300.

15/9/18 – 16/9/18 – Went to Gamebore DTL Grand Prix at Mid Wales Shooting Centre and shot back to back 100/299s.

20/10/18 – Shot my first 100 straight at Single Barrel at the South West SB Intercounties, at North Cornwall SG.

27/10/18 – First day DTL High Gun at Maylands Grand Final Weekend, Maylands Gun Club, Essex, score 100/297.

19/4/19 – 20/4/19 – Won the Prescott Cup at North Cornwall SG, first time the competition had been held, scores 100/297, 100/299.

8/8/20 – Won the Devon SB Championship for the second time, score 95.

2021 – Qualified for the England DTL Team for the second time. Shot at Fauxdegla Shooting Ground, North Wales. Very poor score at Home International (88/260 that didn’t count), but shot a 99/295 (second highest score of the entire England team) at the British Open. England cleaned up both days:

Highest scoring country.

Governor Generals Trophy.

Almost all of the individual awards went to England team members.

13/8/21 – 15/8/21 – Won the Bisley 200 Warm-up Event and Main Event, scores 100/296, 100/299, 100/298.

4/9/21 – Won the Bradford Gun Club Championship at Bradford SG for the second time, score 99/297.

20/11/21 – Shot my 100th 100 straight at DTL.

17/5/22 – 20/5/22 incl. - Attended APSI Level 1 Shooting Instructors Course at Ladys Wood Shooting School. Completed and passed APSI Safety Test as part of this.

24/7/22 – Won the Devon SB Championship for the third time, score 95.

September 2022 - Signed up as a sponsored shooter with Martin Jeminson of MJ Sporting (https://www.mjsporting.co.uk/), and switched to using Lyalvale Express cartridges.

3/6/23 - 4/6/23 - 2nd overall and 1st in AA at the final Bisley 200 Event at Bisley Gun Club (club forced to close by the NRA, lease renewal deliberately made unaffordable), scores 96/286, 98/291.

9/6/23 - 11/6/23 - Bywell Weekend at Bywell Shooting Ground, Morpeth, UK. Won the Dougall Memorial DTL Championship, score 100/300 in competition, then 25/75 in shoot-off (watch it here). Followed it up with a 99/297 at the English Open the following day.

29/7/23 - Won the inaugural Kellands Plant Sales Ltd. Cup at North Cornwall Shooting Ground, score 98/291, in some very tricky and windy conditions.

19/8/23 - Won the Devon SB Championship for the fourth time, score 97.

10/3/24 - Won the Jethro Memorial Trophy for the first time at Two Counties Shooting Ground, score 100/298.

21/4/24 - Won the Devon SB Championship for the fifth time, score 96.

2024 - Qualified for the England DTL Team for the third time. Qualifying position joint second overall, and will represent England at the European Championship and World Championship as well as the Home International and British Open, all held at Bywell Shooting Ground, Morpeth, UK, July 8th - 13th 2024.
