Waking up on Saturday morning, I wasn't too sure how the day was going to go.

Although my form is good at the moment, and winning the Dougall Memorial has given me a huge boost, with everything I have going on, all the thinking, planning, and working a full time job that requires early starts and to be switched on every minute of the day, I was feeling a bit drained.

That isn't really how you want to feel when you have a Championship to defend!

This event has been a while in the planning.

Tim Hill, Managing Director of Kellands Plant Sales Ltd and a DTL shooter himself, has wanted to hold a sponsored shoot at North Cornwall Shooting Ground for the last couple of years.

Although the events described in this post happened well over a month ago now, and the results are well known, I couldn't leave the blog without one of my most significant experiences so far in my shooting career!

It was back to the local circuit today after the grand occasion of Bywell last week.

North Cornwall were holding the Cornwall DTL Championship, and running their own Gun Club Championship alongside it.

I’m actually writing this from a hotel room in Northumberland!

Day 2 of the Grand Prix at Fauxdegla, and after yesterday there were still four or five shooters within striking distance of the overall win (including me).

Well, today turned out to be very interesting.

It could have been even more interesting if one small thing had gone differently!

Today followed a rather interesting practice day yesterday, where I took advantage of Fauxdegla’s pattern plate facilities and did something that I could have done here last year, but chose not to.

It was glorious weather at North Cornwall today - we've been absolutely spoilt!

However, the bright conditions and playful breeze blowing from behind didn't make it easy.
